Terms of Use

These rules apply to jacobgeist.com, Users, Chat, and the developer website. By selecting “Agree and continue,” you agree to follow them.

School community

Chat is intended for people in Jacob’s school community. This is a personal website; it does not represent the school or replace school rules. Using the site does not exempt anyone from school policies or applicable law.

Responsibility and limits of liability

You are responsible for your own posts and actions. Other users’ posts express their views, not Jacob Geist’s. The service is provided as available, without a promise that it will always be available, error-free, or free of harmful user content.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Jacob Geist disclaims warranties and liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service, interruptions, lost data, or other users’ content or conduct. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence where such exclusions are prohibited, or limits nonwaivable rights.

These terms do not prohibit reporting safety concerns, misconduct, or unlawful conduct to a parent, the school, law enforcement, or another appropriate authority. They do not prevent school discipline or legal proceedings. If you are a minor, review these terms with a parent or guardian; entering a name or clicking agree does not by itself establish legal capacity or guardian consent.

Be respectful

Do not bully, harass, threaten, impersonate others, spam, or share hateful or sexually explicit content. Do not post someone else’s private information or try to access another person’s account.

Your account and posts

Keep your password private. Only upload pictures or other content that you own or have permission to share. You keep ownership of your content and allow the site to store and display it to the people who can access that part of the site.

Chat moderation

Direct and group chats are not private from the site administrator. Jacob can review all conversations and pictures, flag content, remove messages, and remove accounts and their related data. Do not use this chat to share sensitive or confidential information.

Privacy and agreement records

Usernames, display names, and profile pictures are visible to other visitors. Signup and login times and IP addresses are available in the private developer dashboard. Anonymous traffic analytics are separate from those login records. Read the Privacy page for details.

Agreement is remembered using a random browser cookie shared across jacobgeist.com and its subdomains. The server stores a hash of that random value, the terms version, the acceptance time, and the name you enter. If this browser signs in, the record is also linked to that account. Jacob can view these records in the private developer dashboard. Entered names are self-reported, not verified identities. This record is not a hardware fingerprint and does not prove who used a shared browser. The cookie lasts one year. A different browser, private browsing, cleared cookies, or an updated terms version can require agreement again.

Availability and changes

This is a personal community website. Features and availability may change, and access may be restricted for misuse. Keep your own copy of anything important. If these rules are updated, the site will ask for agreement to the new version.

Questions or removal requests

Contact Jacob Geist directly about site problems, content removal, or account deletion. If you do not agree with these rules, do not continue using the site.
